Description. Leasingthorne Colliery in this township was sunk in 1835, and is now worked by Messrs. Bolckow, Vaughan, and Co. The Five Quarter and Main Coal seams are met here at a depth of 68 fathoms ; the former 5 feet thick, and the latter 4 feet 6 inches.
